Mr. Ralph Steiger, of Mik-Lurch, in Hammond, will be our guest speaker this
month. Ralph will be discussing Smallmouth Bass fishing
on Lake Michigan.

BACK LAKE STOCKING
LCF&G has recently stocked more than 800 6-8” Bluegills in the back lake
thanks to a very generous donation by “Friends of Lake County Fish and
Game”. These donors wish to remain anonymous, yet they donated more
than $1,800.00 towards this project. THANK YOU!!

DAY/NIGHT FISHING OUTING
The Lakes Committee has announced they will be hosting a fishing outing
June 28th from 3-11 PM. Hot dogs will be provided and beverages will be
available.  Come out and enjoy the fishing and friendship with your fellow
LCF&G members. This is your chance to sample some night fishing at the
club. Be sure to bring your chair, light and bug spray.
Aside from the “no night fishing” all club rules will apply.

HUNTER SAFETY EDUCATION CLASS
Don Jones has announced the scheduling of a new Hunter Safety Education
Class to be held at the club. It is scheduled for Friday, July 25th from 6-9 PM
and Saturday, July 26th from 8 AM ‘til finish (about 3 PM).
The class is free and open to the public, however there is a refundable $10
deposit required to register. The deposit is merely intended to cut down on
“no shows”.
You must attend both sessions, and pass the test, in order to receive your
certification. Lunch will be served Saturday.  To register for the class
call Don at (219) 844-2758.

SPORTING CLAYS
Connie and Don are putting together a sporting clays shoot for August 9th
open to members and guests alike.  The shoot will be held at the Grand
Kankakee Hunt Club 16766 S. 250 W. in Hanna, IN.  Take U.S. 30 East to SR 39
South. Go about 2 1/2 miles and look for the sign on the left.
The event is limited to the first 50 shooters. Registration will be from 8:30 AM
‘til 9:15 AM with shooting starting at 9:30 AM. Early bird registration, until
August 6th, is $35. After August 6th registration costs $42.
Cost includes 100 clay targets, prizes and lunch after the shoot. Lewis Class
scoring (A, B & C). An optional Lewis Class cash pot will also be available ($10
per shooter).  Golf carts will be available. Please call ahead to reserve one at
(219) 797-2301.  To register call Connie Dembowski at
(219) 365-0951 or Don Jones at (219) 844-2758.

CLUB PICNIC
Plan now to attend Lake County Fish and Game’s annual club picnic on
Saturday, September 20th. It’s free and open to all members and their
immediate family.  There will be horse shoes to pitch, bean bags to toss
and a casting contest for the kids.   Lake County Fish and Game will provide
all the essentials including meat, corn on the cob, drinks and tableware. You
bring you and maybe a chair.  You also are invited to bring a dish to share.
This is not required, but each year we are blessed with a bevy of sumptuous
salads and delicious desserts.
Come out and enjoy the day with fellow members and their families.
