LAKE COUNTY FAIR
LCF&G will, again, have a booth @ the Lake County Fair which runs from Aug. 7 - Aug. 16.
We’ll also be manning the fish pond the 1st weekend. If you can help, and would like to,
please contact Don Jones.

CLEANUP DAY PLANNED
Lake County Fish and Game has planned a clean-up day for Saturday, September 12,
2009. Just in time for the picnic. We will be cleaning the clubhouse...floors, walls, fans and
windows. So put on your best cleaning clothes, bring some rubber gloves and come out
and help make the clubhouse sparkle! We’ll be cleaning from 8 AM till 1 PM. Any help will
be greatly appreciated.

SHOTGUN RAFFLE
Lake County Fish and Game will raffle a Benelli Supernova Pump Shotgun in 12 ga.
at our club’s family picnic September 26, 2009.
Features of this fine shotgun include: 3 1/2” chamber (it will accept 2 3/4”, 3” and 3 1/2”
shells) composite camo stock and choke tubes.
These tickets are available now and cost $1 each or 6 for $5. Come to any meeting
or event to purchase yours. Or contact Don Jones for an allotment of tickets to sell to
family, friends and/or coworkers.

LCF&G FAMILY PICNIC
Sept. 26th is the date of this year’s Family Club Picnic. There will be food to eat, drinks to
drink, horseshoes to pitch, bean bags to toss, kids’ casting contest to contest and fun and
camaraderie for all.
You may bring a dish to share if you’d like. That’s not a requirement, just more or less a
tradition. Each year we are blessed with a veritable plethora of appetizing appetizers,
sumptuous salads and delicious desserts to enhance our picnic fare.
We’ll provide the meat, drinks, tableware and fun. You provide you, maybe a chair, maybe
a fishing pole,  maybe both.
The hours are from noon ‘til 5 PM. The  Club’s family picnic is open to all members and
their immediate family. Come out and enjoy the day with fellow LCF&G members. Who
knows? Maybe you’ll make some new friends or see some old ones.

DOVE HUNT MENTORING PROGRAM
LCF&G is sponsoring a dove hunt for new-to-the-sport hunters. It will be held Sept. 5, 2009
at the Willow Slough Fish and Wildlife Area. The program is limited to 25 hunters and our
goal is a mentor for every two hunters. Mentors must possess a valid hunting license with
the appropriate stamps and be HIP certified. They will not participate in the shooting, only
guide the new hunters in their quest for some Indiana Dove.
The day will start on the range with some firearm safety and usage instruction, then
lunch, then hunting.
If you would like to help, or for more information,  please contact Don Jones at (219) 844-
2758.

We have been having a problem with people sneaking onto the club property and
member and anyone taking fish from the property.  "Without consent" is the charge,
it is a $153.00 ticket.  LCF&G is now on file with the local CO's, they know how to
identify a member so be prepared to ID yourself as a member.  If you see someone
who is keeping fish or see anyone who is not a member please call the DNR tip line.
800-TIP-IDNR ( 800-847-4367 )  You don't have to give your name but let them know.
They may not be able to come right out but sooner or later they will get them.
We paid for those fish and the theft has to stop.

Emergency numbers are posted in the window near the front gate.

    Thanks for your help
Ticket donations are $1.00 each 6 for $5.00.  Tickets will be sold at the Crown Point Gun Shows, like
